Rachel thru the years

Rachel is 9 right now and is such a blast to be around. She is a real sweetheart. If you are lacking energy just hang around her for a little while and she'll recharge your batteries.Daddy likes to take close-ups to capture our squeeky clean faces and big eyeballs.

This is a time when as a parent you hate yourself and want to crawl under a rock and die. Rachel's mean daddy caught her by the arm in a wrong manner and in a flash it broke! Good thing the doctor had pink casting material to match her princess personality. Forever captured on film in her 1 year photo as a reminder...."be gentle I'm fragile!"
Scary ballerina! It's scary because it's the black tutu, if it were the pink one then it wouldn't be scary.Rachel's 2004 kindergarten photo. Hair is growing longer and the ponytails are getting more sophisticated.
Careful, the goats might chew off your ponytail. Rachel loves animals and petting zoos.
Caught in mid-air cooling off in the backyard. Garden hose water in Michigan is really cold, even on a hot summer day, so it really takes guts to run thru the sprinkler. Our neighbor friend Anthony is in the background as well as the future playground area that daddy made for us.
It is great to be eight! This was her special day as she was baptised by her daddy. Grandma and Grandpa Ohio and Grandpa Graham attended and made it a great memory for her.
Sharing the swing so unselfishly with her sweet sister Sadie! I love this picture in matching shirts, pants, hair bows, and no shoes!
Grandma Helen and Amy made medieval costumes for the kids. Rachel was Guinevere shown here in her "gothic" pose! Where does she get this stuff? She is very photogenic.
When it is fresh and pure it is as tasty as frosting on a cake! Snow is fun but only missed a little bit now that we are living in Texas.
Our little "Charlie's Angel" ready for action, posing with hip attitude and all. I love how the goggles poof up her hair.
Swimming lessons are very popular with the Parker kids. I do believe the eyeballs in her head are bigger pools than the one she is swimming in.
The first lost tooth is always the most exciting. She was tough and didn't even cry. This photo shows that her freckles are starting to show up.
"Honey, the birdie needs to go back to its nest." "But mom, it wants to live with me in my room forever!"
Ready for some leapfrog? I think the frog just cleared Rachel and now it is her turn to jump over the frog.
Higher dad, push me higher!
The beach in Holland, Michigan was always a blast. The water is fresh, the sand is clean and pure and the kids love to play. This was a lovely Spring day, still too cold to swim but fun to walk in the sand with your bare feet and feel it squish between your toes. Riding "Cinnamon" on the ranch in Buffalo, Wyoming. She loves horses with a passion and this was a real treat for her. The horse owner commented that she has good presence in the saddle and gift for riding. Hmm..go figure. 5 years old-taken summer of 2004
Finding a spot to cool down. Also taken at the ranch in Wyoming. This little brook ran behind the ranch house and the kids found it to be refreshing.Fishing pole fun! The yellow fish was weighted and permanently tied to the fishing line. It made casting and reeling very fun. Rachel would play with this all day in the front yard. She got pretty good at casting a fishing pole. Here she is sitting on the step in the garage in Zeeland Michigan pretending to catch a fish from a pot full of water. She's funny :-) Age 5 - Summer 2004
Riding a bike without training wheels (but with plenty of padding) was a milestone for Rachel. She received this bike for her 5th birthday which was in January 2004. We were dumb to buy it for her at this time, as there was snow all over the ground in January. She rode it with training wheels inside the house and garage thru the winter much to the chagrin of the walls and furniture. When Spring came she couldn't wait to go outside with it and by Summer she was ready to take off the training wheels. Behind Rachel you can see Sadie popped up her head showing her little peepers as she is being towed in the "Burley" by Thomas.
Ponytails and pretty pink princess packs are mandatory for little girls on their first day of kindergarten. September 2004
One of my favorite pictures of Rachel. She always poses so well. This photo was taken when she was 4 years old in her 2nd year of pre-school.
This picture is a little washed out, but here she is at age 4 in a pumpkin patch showing mommy the "knubby" little squash she found.
Sitting on the couch in the hospital holding baby Daniel while dressed in overalls and a "Snow White" costume that she wore nearly everyday. This costume was handed down to Sadie and became so thread-bare we had to toss it out. The look she is giving me here is the one that gets her nearly everything she wants! I'm a sucker for "the look."
Wind swept on a school field trip in 1st grade.
Almost 1 year old, sitting on Amy's lap while watching an Atlanta Falcons football game. December 2000

Darn! can't go out and play today. It rains big in Texas.
